Colors

Postby Release.the.bats » Thu Jan 29, 2009 7:08 pm

Has anyone else noticed that looking at certain colors your can see them 'move'? When I was a child I couldn't look at reds or blues because they moved in a way that hurt my eyes.
I notice it with all colors except black usually.
Red and blue tend to be the most prominent.

Yes, I did, red used to move for me. Mainly red words!

Red moved for me as well.
Cooler colors tend to move in a more fluid motion, where as brighter colors tend to move in a fast paced "popping" motion. Where it's like they "pop" towards your eyes.
That's what i've experienced at least.

Yes, I have a hard wood floor and I had just finished repainting my room this deep royal blue color and I hadn't noticed before but I had a slash of it on my floor and once i moved back into the room, I would always think I'm seeing that color moving, like a fast back and fourth action......it was so strange it used to scare.....lol...but it's actualy nothing. It's kind of seeing reflectors, but not exactly. It's sorta just seeing a bright color stand out in a pool of another color. Gosh.....I'm really not too great at explaining this....I'm just hoping you get what I mean...?

Actually it would have to do with how sensitive our eyes were to the electromagnetic spectrum.
It's billions of particles of light, which is why it's constantly moving, it moves in different ways which is part of how we decipher color.
That wonderful thing called the Electromagnetic spectrum.

Part of it is depth perception. If you where to open MS Paint and make a black background, then place a red square and a blue square close to each other you'd see one sticks out further "from the screen" than the other. It's simply how our eyes perceive the depth.

I've been wearing glasses since I was five and I've noticed with different prescriptions sometimes I'll have issues with different colors. Funny thing is I've never heard anyone else say the same thing so I'm rather pleased to hear it isn't just me.

Currently anything red tends to pop out 3D to me. That is to say, anything that wouldn't already be 3D like writing on an advertisement or something. When I first saw it it startled me. Sometimes I can't look at it because it makes me dizzy.

If there was red typing on a blue background, the word sort of popped in and out and blinked. I told my mum but she said I'd watched to much TV.

there's a certain shade of green..some call it Spring Green or Apple Green..whatever its name it's green with tons of yellow in it..I become nauseated whenever I see it..in a kitchen painted that colour I'm a mess.

I can't say it's ever really moved or played tricks on my eyes, but then,I'm usually out of the room before its unhealthy pulse can get to me.
