The Summerland - What happens in the afterlife

Postby Ashe » Tue Dec 16, 2008 1:38 am

Here is a post that i found somewhere.

"The meaning of life :)
Ok so I'am getting alot of emails that say "What is the meaning of life" "Iam confused about my life" "What is my purpose" "I just want to end it all...my life is worth nothing"

So here is a textbook rundown the way I was taught. While on the astral plane aka summerland aka heaven aka nirvana or what ever you want to call it our souls are still imperfect. We have not learned all the lessons that we need to learn and so Samsara is ours. Samsara is the cycle of death and rebirth of a soul aka energy. Ok now we do know and can prove that you can not destroy energy of any kind. It simple goes somewhere else or becomes part of another energy. If you burn a piece of wood you have not destroyed its energy you have simply changed it. So what happens when we die? Our bodies return to the earth in the form of decay thus adding to earth. What happens to our soul though. If you measure the electromagnetic energy of a living person and then when that person dies do it again the reading will be abundantly less. Once again i ask where does that energy go.

I believe that what you believe determines that. Its really the same place for all of us but our minds see things differently so we all go to very different place but the same place to. Its called the astral plane or any of 100's of names. While in the death phase of Samsara we take a look at all of our lives that we have ever lived. Then we decide what we need to learn how to do in our next life. For instance say in all of your lives you have been extraordinary with buisiness but a not so great father you would choose to learn to be a better father. That being decided you wait in your..realm...for the people you choose to teach you these things are right. Then you are reborn to those people. So lets say you picked a couple that are or will be the right influence on you to to learn your objective. (You know because you can see things differently where you are.) You would be born to this couple and they would set the founding stones for you. You will grow up and live your life with good teachers but it is up to you to learn the lesson and follow through.

At the end of your cycle if you have learned what you set out to learn then you move on and repeat. If you dont well then you just have to try again. This is the meaning of life as it was explained to me. Its a watered down version and I wont get into what happens when you have learned all you have to learn but the point is you are here for a reason...your reason. Some say that you are here for Gods reason. They are not wrong but at the same time they are. You pick your reason for being here and whatever God you serve will aid you along the way. This is getting more in depth so i will stop it there.

As for the whole "I just want to end it all...my life is worth nothing" here is what you are doing when you commit suicide. You are taking a spear and breaking it off in your leg. The wound is there and the tip of the spear beneath it, when you commit suicide all you are doing is sewing up that wound with the spear inside. Your body dies but your soul goes to its "heaven" or whatever you want to call it. Your soul is thinking..."Darn it I went down to learn how to look for the good even when things seem like they are not going good!" So all you did was just waste a chance to learn. Once more when your rebirth comes you have all this negative energy because you didnt heal yourself (fix whatever you where reborn to fix about yourself) All you did was cover up a wound. We have faint feelings and memories and we dont know where they come from. So I have met many people who have said that they think they have killed themselves in a past life and something inside them (that wound) warns them against it. Most of these people learn to overcome the negative energy that comes from suicide from helping other people and to them its like healing the wound. Others repeat their mistake and are not getting any father in figuring out what they came to figure out.

So dont kill yourself...its not smart...im sure it hurts...and why would you want to waste your own time when you have to come back and try to learn the same lesson a second time?

If you dont believe or agree with what I wrote that is perfectly ok. This is just a watered down version of what I was taught in the hopes of helping some people.

Blessed Be to my friends and to those on their path."

So what do you think? Is the author a mad man, idealist, stupid or smart?

I like it, and the idea of a resting place between places where you choose your next lesson is a fairly popular and supported one.

I'd like to propose a new spin on things though...

Hypothetically speaking, if this was the way it is, does the system work for animals too, or are their thoughts too different from our own to absorb the lessons we need to learn? What about a thousand generations of hominids ago, when -we- were still mostly animal? Were we still us? Did we have the brainpower to have lessons like this, or did we evolve into our souls as well as our brains? Did our souls start as bacteria, or is this a fairly recent thing?

I always wonder these things. If you're a creationist, there is no problem as you were created exactly as you are, but things get hairy when you take a longer view on things. Precisely how sentient are our fellow creatures, or even plants? I think it's awfully self-centered to think that we're the only special ones with things to learn, so what lessons does a plant learn? Or have we all been plants at some point, and what was it I learned from that?

:D Fun, no?

I like the concept, I think it is basically correct. The lessons I have learned in this life, seem to be more then I have learned collectively in many past lifes... Life is Good.

Thanks for sharing.

I am a Wiccan. The Summerland is a place of paradise, it is where we Wiccans believe we go when we die. It is a realm where everything is blissful and perfect, though I do not know if you go to the Summerland if you take your own life.

That was a nice read, whether you believe in it or not, that's a good way to see the world. One thing is for sure: there's a reason why we're all here and we'll leave this world anyway some day, so there's no need to commit suicide. You have to believe in the good and each of us has to go through bad times now and then.

i enjoyed what the author wrote. i have always believed that people go to the place they 'believe in' when they die - but i also had a feeling that it was the same place as everyone else, just with a different name.

i have always felt like i learned many lessons in past lives. i also feel that i don't repeat mistakes from those lives either....i make plenty of new mistakes this time!!

does anyone else feel this way? (the having learned feeling, not the making new mistakes feeling lol)

this was refreshing :)

That's the same thing I've learned from the books I've read and from my own meditations. Thanks for posting that.

Your very welcome :)
I'm going through a rough time controlling my abilities as an empath but my beliefs have not been changed because of it. I hope this post helps some people.

ashe

you did a wonderful job and i think it's right what you said, it makes me think differently how my life can be in my control. I used to freak out on seeing spirits and the undead and spirit animals that come to me. I told myself i have to learn how to control these gifts i have and make every day count. wicca kept me alive and i had something to look forward to do every day and what i could learn. that's why i thank this forum and adore all of you.

blessed be my darlings :D
