for all you tarot readers out there i was just curious:

what do you do before during and after each reading.


personally i try to find a calm quiet-ish place before
during i concentrate really hard on the person i'm reading
after i like to shuffle my deck and thank the powers that be for whatever answers the person i'm reading might find.

I usually set the mood first..

I darken the room, light a candle, burn incense and meditate for a while..

I'm fond of letting my friends/family(clients) to touch the cards so that the querent and the cards would have blended energies..

thats interesting. i usually dont let anyone touch my cards except the person i'm reading for. i cut the deck into 4 small piles and have the readie put the decks in order. if i'm doing it online (most of my readings are done via computer) i have the readie put the decks in order by aranging the letters ABCD in any order.

i just dont feel right if someone who isnt involved in the readings touches my cards. 0_0

I think that's what kuotetsu meant by "friends/family(clients)" -he meant the person he's reading for (if it's a friend or family...etc.) is the one placing their energy in and commingling the energy with the cards prior to the readings he does.

I agree though, I generally just take a moment to chill and then immerse myself in the energy I see my querent conjuring as he/she shuffles the cards and focuses their question on them.

That's about it! LOL
