Knocking

My dream the other night consisted of one main important symbol that I would love help interpriting, or hearing other's experiences with the same situation.

My fiance and I were in my mom's house and in my bedroom. He was asking me to pass him things (cup, lighter, remote control) and my super klutz was on the attack. If I didn't drop everything, I tripped and fell all over myself to get to the requested item. then there was a loud and agressive (albeit not entirely angry) knock on the bedroom door. My fiance and I tried to open the door at the same time, and before we could reach the door, we were both stuck in the middle of the action; like a DVD being put on pause. Then in my dream I realized that it was absurd and that it was a dream.

I jumped up out of my bed to open the door, thinking it was my mother, and no one was there. I walked to the front door thinking someone knocked at the door and no one was there. (I used the peephole). I went back to bed since everyone was obviously still asleep. This was at around 6am.

There are a few other instances on previous nights where I was half asleep and jumped awake because I heard a loud bang.
