Buddha boy meditating for month and years gives me faith

Postby Y0m » Sat Feb 27, 2010 3:18 am

Ram Bahadur started meditating at the age of 15 for months on end, then finally only eating herbs when he had to move because of being distrubed... and then goind back into deep meditation.

This is a recent story which can be found here:

Because of this I have received much faith and determination. I know now that my path is to help all troubled souls in this world. The pain is great it makes me want to cry for everyone. I know you all suffer so much.

Being so, I've decided to undertake serious fasting and meditation concentrating on the upliftment of the world. I am not sure if I will be back for a while. I wish you all much peace and happyness in your lives. Please know that I love you all. I commend anyone who is willing to undertake the great spiritual path.

Much love,
Y0m

I undertook a simple 24 hour fast before I began to get a major headache and ate. But this short time has shown me that I am going to become a monk! I'm so happy. Formal education just isn't for me. Hopefully I can help many people.

I will be writting to a forest-tradition monastary in Cali soon. Hopefully I will be excepted and ordained.

Anyway I hope writting about this here isn't vain. I'm just happy. It is hard to grow spiritually when you live with a family of athiests.

Much love and respect,
Y0m

I think that's what I'd do if the Ancestors didn't have other plans for me.

I'd love to just be in sacred space building sacred things, making offerings, doing whatever rituals and divination need to be done for healing, teaching, and overall lifting the consciousness of the entire planet.

I am being shown that this is possible for myself if I put in triple the effort.

Well, I know that everyone has different purposes in their lives. I was against being a monk for a long time only because I thought that people should be productive. But we have plenty of people working normal jobs to support this country and not enough monks and spiritual leaders, so I don't feel so bad :)

Anyway, what isn't productive about helping to uplift the world anyway? ha

Do what feels right. Monkhood is not an easy path, but if it calls to you, why not?

I couldn't have said it better myself. Helping people is one of the most productive things you can do. I'm sure you will not only help people with their spiritual paths but also with the other hardships of life. I wish you the best of luck as this is one of the harder walks of life, but if it's what's calling to you, then you must do it. We all have path, though most don't see it; I'm glad you noticed yours^_^

wow you have more than I. A monks life seems so boring, I like living in both the spirit world and the physical. To be close to people living thier everyday experaince is just too beautiful for me to shun.

And in this there is absolutly nothing wrong with. In fact, the Gita suggests not giving up one's purscribed duties. Although, i feel like this is the duty being purscribed to me at this time.

Also, although I will be living in the forest, the monastary I would like to go to has normal, daily interactions with the people of the lay community. So not completly normal people, as they will be spiritual, but still normal interactions :)

Once I am ready I will begin to travel helping people in any way I can.
