Merry meet everyone, I'm Eveline, I'm very new to the forum and to witchcraft. I don't really have a lot of experience so i was just wondering if any of you would be kind enough to help me.
I'm soon going to cast my first circle and i was wondering if i should self initiate myself before practising any Magick or isn't it really necessary. Also should i initaiate myself to the God and Goddess, or can i just start.
Any advice will be deeply appreiciated, i'm very young and unexperienced and need help from anyone who will help.

You dont need to initiate at all. Only wiccans do and wicca is not witchcraft. Witchcraft is a separate act. ANYONE can practise witchcraft, only a minority are wiccan.
As a beginner to paganism you need to understand the different between paganism, witchcraft, and wicca. I do not believe in the god and goddess. They dont exist. I believe in nothing that wicca teaches and yet i am still capable of performing witchcraft. I am a pagan.
If you choose not to initiate then you are a pagan, and not a wiccan.
either way you should remember that wicca and witchcraft are different. Many people here arent wiccans but they are still witches.
In short no, you dont need to dedicate, initiate or anything else.

Initiation, a circle and IMO most of the things Wicca books say are necessary in most other types of witchcraft are not, and when they are it's for specific reasons. All you need is your spell, a candle or two, maybe some incense to help set the mood, a clear mind and you heart and will set on what it is you're about to do.
They say only Silver Bullets kill the beast inside.....
You do not need to initiate yourself, but if it will add to you experience and help you feel more like a witch then go for it.
I tend to feel better when I cast a circle to do my magick. You also don't need an alter but from what I've read most books tell you to cast a circle to help keep negative energy out. The circle is just imaginary anyways.
There are some really good videos that helped me on YouTube. Search circle casting for solitary witches or things like that.
