Sleep Better..

Postby ScarlettRose » Sat Oct 23, 2010 3:43 pm

Lately I haven't been able to sleep very well. I wake up every hour or so.
My mom has 'Calm' tea, but does anyone have any other teas that help you sleep better? & I keep an amethyst under my pillow every night. (:

First of all this happens to everyone from time to time so don't get too worried about it unless continues for so long that lack of sleep begins to interfere with your quality of life. People can suffer from various health issues that prevent them from ever getting a good nights sleep and that can cause serious health problems.

Valerian root tea is excellent as a sleep aid, non addictive, and doesn't have any negative properties that I'm aware of. I would suggest checking with a medical professional such as a pharmacist if you're taking any other medications though, just to be one the safe side.

Chamomile tea is also good, but you should be aware it works a little differently than most herbs. Chamomile tea has a cumulative effect. Meaning that consistency matters, a cup every night will do more to help than just one single cup once in a great while. NOTE CHAMOMILE TEA IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PREGNANT WOMEN.

Thanks for that info. I love Chamomile tea, I'll try that before going to bed. I don't think I've ever had Valerian root tea before. I'll see if my mom has put it in any of my teas before. She put together all sorts of different stuff, she's an herbalist. So, I'll def check that out. Thank you!(:

LOL If you'd ever had Valerian root in any form you'd probably know it. It makes stinky gym socks smell good! And that's putting it mildly lol.

This may sound wacky but you may want to try sleeping with your head pointing North, especially if you're a deeply spiritual person. North is the elemental direction for connecting with the spiritual and for dreaming. You're restless in your sleep, either because something is bothering you or some information or answer is trying to get through to you. In either case this might help. Just a thought.

That's very interesting! Thank you for sharing that with me (: I'll try that tonight! I have high anxiety lately, so that could be why... I've been sleeping somewhat better though.
Thanks again!
Blessings.
