Self Dedication Ritual

[Symandinome]

Here is a Ritual of Self Dedication to the Service of the Gods:

You will need:
A bowl of milk
A bowl of water
A bowl of salt
A white candle
A stick or cone of any incense you like.

On the night of the Full Moon, take the above items outside in view of the moonlight. Hold up the Salt and Water before the moon and say:

"May you be made pure"

Take up the unlit incense and unlit candle and hold it before the moon as well and say:

"May you be made pure"

Hold up the bowl of milk before the moon and say:

"Through a mother's milk we are all nourished and fullfilled. Let it be so for me. Let this milk be made pure and inturn make me pure to serve the will of the Gods."

Take all your items back inside and place everything except the milk on or in the area that you are going to do your dedication ritual. Take the milk with you to the bathroom and undress to take a shower. Bathe yourself thoroughly. Take the blow of milk and hold it above and before your and say:

"Sacred Milk of a Loving Mother make me pure of mind body and soul that I may serve the Gods and the Old Ways."

Pour the milk over your head and let it run down your body. Know that as the cold chill of the milk stings your body it has removed all negativity and has made you pure.

WIthout speaking after you have poured the milk on your body dry yourself off and proceed naked into the area where you will perform your ritual.

Kneel before the items that you have previously blessed by the moon. Place your finger in the bowl of water and say:

"This water is pure and is a symbol of the goddess. May it aid me always and impart upon me the gifts of its essense."

Place your finger in the bowl of salt and say:

"This salt is pure and is a symbol of the god. May it aid me always and impart upon me the gifts of its essence."

Light the incense and hold it in your hands and say:

"This sacred smoke is pure and is a symbol of the breath of life. May it aid me always and impart upon me the gifts of its essence."

Light the candle and hold it in your hands and say:

"This sacred flame is pure and is a symbol of the passion burning within me. May it aid me always and impart upon me the gifts of its essence"

Take three pinches of salt and place them in the water and stir the water three times clockwise and say:

"As God joins with Goddess and becomes One in like fashion may I become One with the Gods."

Take up the incense and pass the smoke around your body * between your legs under your feet arms etc*
Take up the candle and repeat the same motions as with the incense.
Take up the salted water and using your finger trace a pentragram on the tops of your feet and say:

"Blessed be my feet that have brought me in these ways"

Using the salted water trace a pentragram on your knees and say:

"Blessed be my knees that kneel at the sacred altar."

Continue by tracing a pentragram on your pelvis and say:

"Blessed be my loins from which all life comes."

Continue by tracing a pentagram over your heart and say:

"Blessed be my chest full of strength and beauty."

Continue to your lips and trace a pentragram there and say:

"Blessed be my lips that utter the sacred names"

Replace the salted water back on your working area and take a quiet moment of reflection on what you are wanting to do and why then while kneeling and head bowed say:

"Lords and Ladies of the Ancient Ways I come before you naked and unadorned.
I kneel before you with my head bowed and ask for your blessings into your service.
Embrace me Mother and Father and welcome me home.
My path has been long and winding and your voice has been heard off in the distance.
I have heard your call and have found you within me.
I fain to learn all witchery and its secrets.
I uphold the ancient ways and honor you not only in word but in deed.
I have been made pure by the essences of nature and I am now worthy to be in your prescence once again.
Descend upon me Ancient Ones, and accept your son/daughter as your Priest/ess."

Rise and walk to the western section of your ritual area and with eyes closed walk backwards counter clockwise and say:

"This is the death of the old me, I do not mourn its passing as it has made way for me to be born again into the light!"

Turn to face eastern direction and open your eyes and say:

"Alive am I once more, A child of the Old Ways and of the Ancient Gods. I see now with the keen eyes of the Witch. My senses are heightened. I am full of life, energy, power, and truth."

Walk clockwise to the area where you have the blessed items and be in a position where they are infront of you.

With arms and legs outstreched in what is known as the "goddess or star position" say:

"Sacred Goddess, Queen of Darkness and of Light, Mother of us all, Bless me now your son/daughter as Priest/ess and Witch. Ever shall I be known as *say your new craft name here*"

Take a moment to meditate and feel the goddess' energy fill your body and annoint you as her Priest/ess.

Return to a normal standing posture and with your arms make an X across your chest paying attention to place your right arm over the left and having your wrists touch one another in what is known as the God Position and say:

"Sacred God, Lord of Magick and Might, Father of us all, Bless me now your son/daughter as Priest/ess and Witch. Ever shall I be known as *say your new craft name here*"

Take a moment to meditate and feel the gods' energy fill your body and annoint you as his Priest/ess.

Return to a normal standing posture then kneel down onto one knee with head bowed and say:

"By your blessings I have been made worthy to serve you. I am *insert craft name here* Priest/ess and Witch of the Old Ways. I vow here and now before the Gods to uphold your sacred ways in word and in deed from this moment on forever more. So Mote It Be."

Drop down onto both knees and take the salted water and make the sign of the pentragram on your forhead with a circle around it and say:

" I *insert craft name here* am Priest/ess and Witch of the Old Ways and I consecrate myself to their service. I have been reborn and made worthy. All Magicks and their mysteries shall be known to me. I am blessed and protected. The elements shall bend to my will. These things shall be for all eternity. SO MOTE IT BE!

Rise now with your head held high. You are now an annointed Priest/ess and Witch of the Old Ways. Walk clockwise to the West and kneel on one knee and say:

"I am *insert craft name* Priest/ess and Witch of the Old Ways. Impart upon me the gifts of your essence that is my birth right as we are now ONE."

Take a moment and allow the powers of water and the western quarter to bless you then move on to North and repeat and so on to East and then to South.

After coming full circle return once again before the altar and with arms outstretched say:

"Hail to the Lord and Lady and Hail to the Ancient Ways
Lord and Lady Stay if Thy WIll Leave if Thy Must
Forever are we in Harmony."

Your dedication is now complete.
