If you're new to wicca, witchcraft or paganism in general, It's best to not perform spells straight from the get-go. You'll make alot of costly mistakes, and you clearly don't yet understand the basics of magick, so how do you expect the spell to work? A spell is something ADVANCED wiccans, and witches, use. It's not something that all people can use with absolutly zero knowledge of spellcraft.
That being said, if you're serious about becoming a wiccan then you will dedicate the time to study. If you're only a wiccan for the spells, then wicca isn't for you.
If you're looking for resources of knowledge of the basics, you can find many books on wicca, witchcraft and paganism in general at your nearest library. You can also do online searches for the basics aswell. And this website does also have gems of knowledge all around that you can find and use.
As an extra note, it's useless performing spells as a complete novice with no understanding. Because they very very rarely work as a novice, and those that do either do something so inconsequential that it's pointless, or do the opposite of what you actually wanted. I seriously recommend learning about magick, spellcraft and wicca before jumping into a more advanced stage.

Hello Celes, there is no one correct way to preform a circle. But it is a very good base to start from, even if you are very new to wicca since the practice of creating a sacred space is something that can benefit everyone.
Since you are very new I will try to explain the basics. I will note that I am no high priestress and I can only teach from experience.
The concept of creating a circle is to create a sacred space in which it is safe to preform ritual work but also a place where you can center, cleanse, meditate, conjur etc. Firstly you need to understand the basics of directing energy. You might already know this but we are all made up out of energy, energy can be felt through vibrations and heat. For instance, if you rub your hands together and you seperate them slowely you can feel the energy moving inbetween your hands. When placing hands over wounds or sore places you might feel them warm or feel them vibrate.
Knowing this we know that are bodies are energy sources and that with the right knowledge we can tap into that energy and bend it to our will. Our hands and our minds are the first and foremost tools we will ever need so don't worry about not having the right tools.
In the beginning visualisation might be a bit hard so helping it allong with visible tools is always a good idea. For instance by lining your circle with chalk or rope or candles. A circle should be big enough for you to stand within with your arms spread wide or walk around.
Now that you have established the boundries of your circle you can stand within it, spread your active arm (your dominant hand) and point your finger at the boundries of your circle. Walk round it and feel your hands warming or vibrate, walk around the circle and feel the energy running through your arm and your hand, creating the boundries of your circle. Once you feel the circle is perfect envision the circle stretch around you like a ball, have the walls stretch beneath the ground and way above your head so they can encopass you and the energies surrounding you.
Congradulations you have errected your first circle.
Later you wont need need to create the entire ball, the circle will be enough. Spend time inside your circle, feel the energy grow dense and warm the longer you are inside it, feel the difference when you reach your hand outside the circle. Perhaps you would like to meditate or simple be.
Hope this helped. Bless

Simple Circle - start and end at north,
sweep off debris, light some incense, & then walk around
point-&-push to cast circle. Seeing in the mind acts both in the mundane realm & in the etheric realm to help clear stagnant energy. Quietly lighting an inviting incense suggests knowing who/what you invite, and raising Earth energy
to project the circle takes a bit of practice too.
Make psi balls between the hands
for practice. Ground - root your energy down the spine into Earth, then center - pull power on the breath from Earth & Sky to your gut. Think the actions & push power from the gut & out the hands. You’ll feel a subtle pushback of energy with practice. Shake off your hands to clear them. If they buzz then just re-ground. Psi balls also have uses
