I've finally come to the realisation that Freya is my Goddess...but I'm still stuck with choosing a God. I was drawn to Freya through years of study and generally admiring all the things she is upheld for. But as for a God, I'm finding it difficult to decide whether it should be a God who has a lot in common with her or someone who is her complete opposite or even a God who has qualities that I like in a male figure.
If the latter is correct, what God is known for love/humour/protection?
Thanks for your help!

Merry Meet Onewiththenight. You aren't stuck. Sit back and relax and let things happen and come to you. When we search desperately for something it doesn't seem to come to us, that's because we don't control time, but when the time is right you will see them materialize. As you learn more about yourself, you will also find what Deity fits with you, you may only have one, you may have many and/or they will change over time as you grow. Blessings <3

I've just one question to ask... Why do you need to have a particular God?
I mean... you found your Goddess, that's great, but why is it need to have a God for you too? In my opinion, if it doesn't come naturally on the moment, then there is no need to it on this time.
You can revere all gods, or many gods, without choosing one, or the male principle (I don't know how to say what we call "masculin sacré" in french ^^).
And when it's time to you, if this time will come, then you will see it as an evidence...
So why is it so important for you to have your God? I don't judge your need anyway, I just ask myself the question!

Hi Frenchcoat. You don't NEED to have anything other than a belief in a Higher Power, this is only my opinion of course. Like I stated and I know others will agree, you find what fits and what resonates well well you. I went thru a path of Jesus, then Angels, then Light, the Goddess, Creator....until something began to fit and sit well with me. It's my path and my Higher Powers are different but yet all one.

I totally agree with you, but I was just asking it because OneWithTheNight seemed to need a proper God.
I think that if she knows it and can explain why she really need it, perhaps it would be easier to find the good one or to decide that it's not so important.
But I don't judge, it may be very important for her to have "her" God!

Hi FrenchCoat,
I'm very new to Witchcraft, and from what I've read and researched it seems that most people have their chosen Deities. I suppose I was just under the impression that it was normal for a lot of people to choose two. I have a chosen Goddess, just because I have admired for a very long time and I guess I thought I needed a God to be in partnership with her.
Thank you both for your advice and I'll let Him find me if he chooses to.
