Re: Gabriel
I'm not sure if you still need the information, but I'll write this down for any one else wondering.
Gabriel (West,Blue, Water), Uriel (North, Green, Earth), Michael (South, Red, Fire), and Raphael (East, Yellow, Air) are the four angels who intercede for humanity.
Gabriel is the angel of the annunciation, resurrection, mercy, vengeance, death, and revelation. He is the only angel other then Michael (and Raphael in the Catholic version) mentioned by name in the bible. He has a scythe that has been ready since Creation. His element is water, and the color representing that is obviously blue. He is ruler of the west winds.
He is also one of the angels my love has seen, so this next part isn't so much common knowledge just something we've learned through experience, no one else may agree with this, but at the very least it should be added. She says that he has white-blonde hair, and ice blue eyes. He also has palest skin of any of the angels she's ever seen. He may appear differently to others (For example, Angels have no real gender and can appear as male, or female.)I think they can choose how they'll appear to you. Personality wise, he's sweet. Never raises his voice above a gentle soothe, except when a child is hurt. He has a hate of pedophiles that's terrifying. That scythe does get it's uses.
Random, but each angel has a sin that angers them. (Well as much as an angel can be angry) Michael hates murder, Raphael hates if you abuse someone you're supposed to care for. Like the elderly or the sick. Uriel hates adultery. My definition of adultery is when you promise yourself to another, and break that holy bond you've formed by being with another.
The Archangel Gabriel is celebrated as the being who told the Virgin Mary of her destiny. He also announced the impending birth of John the Baptist to his father Zacharias. Zacharias despaired of ever having a son because it appeared that his wife couldn't have children.
Gabriel's first appearance in the Christian Bible, is in the Old testament book of Daniel. Daniel who is an exile of Babylon, has a vision of the end of the world, and Gabriel appears to interpret for him. Gabriel's occupation as a celestial messenger is suggested by his name which literally means " Man who is of God." However the tidings he brings aren't always joyful. In biblical tradition he is also seen as the Angel of Death. -The Glory of the Angel's by Edward Lucie Smith
