The God's role in Full/New Moon rituals

Postby raynelae » Fri Apr 20, 2012 4:14 pm

Hi there :)
Do you invoke the god in rituals involving the moon? If so, why or why not? I know the moon is Goddess oriented, but the God is the Great Mother's consort.

Blessed be

If you involve the God then perhaps you are taking away the Goddesses association with the moon in some way. Would you involve the Goddess in a sun ritual? I'm no expert that's just my own opinion. I don't follow any particular path. I think if you feel it is right to involve the God in a moon ritual then you should. Maybe invoking them both will give the ritual more strength. I personally think we should all be in charge of our own spiritual beliefs and practices and that is what has drawn me to paganism in the first place. Like I say I don't know the official Wiccan rules if that's what you're after I'm just offering my own novice opinion.

Blessed be

I get what you're saying. At the same time, the God and Goddess are together and they show their strong bond during the Sabbats.

I always invoke both the Goddess and God in rituals, including ones involving the moon. To me the God and Goddess together represent balance, and he is her consort so I feel like you can't have one without the other.
