curiosity...what do you collect?

Postby MsMollimizz » Sun Sep 02, 2012 10:13 pm

I was puttering around the apartment today looking at my bookshelf (wishing I had room for another!) and I got to wondering...
As those on the magical paths, god/dess worshipers there's probably quite a few things that would fit here ???
What do you collect ? From the normal to the obscure...
Me: I collect elephants, tins, stickers, sticks that can become wands, cat whiskers and whole claws that have shed; is this odd to any of you or
are there a few of you who collects them too...

So you collect books, I'd imagine most pagans collect books also. The more books we have the different
versions and beliefs of different peoples, at least that's part my idea of the different the different books.
I love books ! Don't give me a kindle ::coolglasses:: I like the feel of the books in my hands. I could turn to
the section I'm thinking about to refresh my memory of what I'd read...
When I first collecting cat whiskers I'd thought about using a willow wand with the whiskers on it...it would be
a "pussy willow wand" !!! LOL!!!
Thank you for your post :)

I collect books, herbs, crystals, funny miniatures of cloth and staff for my home hobs and spirits (I trully believe they must be treated as well).

I collect books, religious, historical (Mostly on big American wars) , fiction (love Koontz and Anne Rice), and graphic novels. I collect holy cards, and... man I don't really collect a lot of stuff, DVDs ...I guess I could add DVDs.

His Odd Thomas series is my favorite. :). I'm working on making my first wand right now, I'm having so much fun with it, so I'm not suprised you have a big collection. Do you make yours or buy them?

I collect really weird stuff...
Its all books about wiccans, witchcraft, and shamans. And then there is a skull painted like a sugar skull which I use for respecting the dead, dream catchers,a wand,a athame or dagger, and then some some weird shaman and wiccan stuff. So many books. The rest of the book case is a crud load of video games.
The empty void in us,can be filled with a little magic.

I don't think that's weird, whisperingmaiden, one can never have enough information about the Craft :) and ladycael, I always make my wands and my skills have gotten better the more I make them. I just made my third wand about a month ago from sweetgum wood (for new beginnings) and painted the rune Algiz on it and annointed it with rosemary oil for power in magick :D

Does anyone only get the sticks needed for making a wand when you are going to make it or
do y'all collect the sticks and decide from them which one to make ???
I'm curious cause I have about 6 sticks to choose from to make them.
I need to search which woods are good for what, cause I believe I need a few more sticks !

Raynelae , that's awesome. The branch I'm using for my wand is from a trembling aspen tree, I'm still trying to decide what oil to anoint it with. I wish I had more books about Wicca, paganism, and witchcraft, whisperingmaiden I'm so jealous. ><
