My temporary altar

Postby Lunar Rose » Sat Mar 22, 2014 9:59 am

For various reasons I have to keep my alter in a nicely decorated shoe box, only taking it out when I need it. I have a gorgeous antique chest that I use for my altar. I've put some photos below. All of the items have either been with me for years and so hold sentimental value (such as my pink quill pen - to represent air, and my large rose quartz point in the middle). The other objects and the altar cloth are items that I have found in my local antique centre, that I felt a calling to. Except for my besom and cauldron which I bought online.

Is that purple pentagram star made out of Popsicle sticks? It looks cool if it is. If not I still think its cool looking.

There is nothing wrong with having an altar that you set up and take down. Many people have to do that for personal reasons as well as practical reasons. I think you can make the setting up of the altar as part of the ritual when you have only temporary altars.

It is made of Popsicle sticks. I bought a pack of coloured ones from my local pound shop. I've made red, blue, yellow and green ones that I use to represent the quarters as well. Image

Elegant and peaceful. I love the effect of the light coming from the window, and the wonderful vibe eminating from the chunk of rose quartz. Thanks for sharing with us.

Glad you like it. The rose quartz really does have a vibe about it. I bought it from a craft fair when I was about 13, as soon as I saw it, I loved it!

Awesome. Way to craft and make personal supplies for your rituals that work for you. I hope they last you a long time and that the spirits of the quarters bless them.

Thank you all for your kind words.

I love pink, I find that it makes me feel happy and bubbly! Also, I feel a strong connection to Aphrodite, so the alter is influenced by that.

Thanks, it's a vintage silk scarf that I found at my local antique centre. It was screwed up on the floor and I just felt it calling to me. It's got beautiful little flowers embroidered all over it. I love it!

Absolutely beautiful! And the altar table and that pink altar cloth just give it that almost magickal look to it!
