So, I was curious to hear about everyone's story on how they found or was chosen by their patrons? If it isn't too personal I would love to hear all about it!

Story time!

Throughout my life, there have been instances where I felt drawn to a certain God or Goddess, but when I got older, I felt that I should know for sure who are helping me on my path. I had Doreen Virtue's Goddess Oracle deck, and every time I asked who was helping me Hathor always appeared. I knew she had to be one of my team members.

I decided to do a Tarot reading, and asked for my God to tell me about himself. I felt bad not knowing about my God. The reading revealed a male and female form, and had two separate entities to be exact. The basic gist of the reading showed that my Matron and Patron deity are in terms with their "alter egos" or their "darker sides" and I needed to respect that as well.

For those who are familiar with Egyptian mythology, they know that there are some stories that say that Hathor went on a massacre and became Sekhmet, other versions only describe Sekhmet. The reading for the male described Odin in my eyes, and Odin has been described in some works as being "Blood Brothers" with Loki.

It all ended up working out in the end since each deity represents an element to me and they create a balance. Lately, my dragon, animal, God deity has also joined the mix and represents the spirit. Inari helps me out and is more of a mentor for me.

I have very ancient deities they are what I believe make up the world and all aspects of fate and they number 6 of them. Each are a pair, each are a balance of the other. As I am very attune to Fae and Nature alike but they (my deities) are what encompass everything. The twins are the only deities who exist in the Now, the single instant of existence, of potential. They are all matter, all substance, all that makes up TIME. The parents of the twins make up "the Now". They bracket the current moment, sifting all the winds of eternity into what will be and what will not. They are future and past. They are always in conflict with one another. Then their is my goddess of free will, passion and movement along with her mate (her balance) he is all things opposite his domain is cold and still and silent, and his worship is power. They are "choice".

I discovered them all when visiting Africa, listening to ancient stories handed down in a small village near Kilimanjaro. They are not strictly African in nature but something as old as the sun and stars and moon. They drew me in like a bee to honey and I have honored them ever since.

My Fae connection is from where I grew up in England as a child playing on the moors and in the forests, whenever I go back home I give them offerings, music and gifts and they bless my home, hearth and garden.
