The Rainbow Bridge

Postby SnowCat » Mon Dec 01, 2014 10:08 pm

This is a thread to honor and remember our companions who ran ahead of us to cross The Rainbow Bridge. To my many many furry friends throughout my life, I love you and I miss you. Take care of each other. Please take care of Firebird's fur babies and Sakura's pup.

Thank you, Snow. I love this! They have this on a parrot forum I used to visit. I'd like to add RIP to my little baby boy, Oliver who was my cockatiel. It's still hard to think he's gone. ):

My friend Fruitbat doesn't have a membership here. He lost BJ a few months back. BJ was a gorgeous black cat. To Fruitbat, he was "the best cat in the world." RIP BJ, until your person joins you on the other side.

Dedicated to my heart and to my soul, to Puka and Tommy. I miss all of my fur babies that passed, but these two hurt a bit more.

There are so many, I fear leaving some critter out.
For awhile I was the deadbird woman,
anyone that found an injured winged one would bring them to me, and rarely did they survive. It was terribly disheartening, and there were many, too many to count.
Thanks be to the few that got back to the nest, wish there had been more.
This section is to all the feathered tweeters
that flew across the rainbow from our home to the roost of their kin.
♡♡Blessings to you little chirpers, tweedlers, screechers, and squawkers♡♡

And the few that did live in the house:

Tom and Jerry- parakeets 1979
Dovney- ringneck turtle dove (set free) 1980
Saratara -ringneck turtle dove 1994
birdiebirdie -mourning dove 1994
Fro-doo -chicken (she was an indoor outdoor bird! ) 1995
Sacajewea- rock dove 2001..we called him Jewea, he was a wild pigeon, he was named after the Native American woman Sacagawea ...which means 'bird' in Shoshone.
He was one of the babies out of the nest that did survive
...he went on to bring home Mrs Jewea. And they proceeded to have quite a large family, all of whom were set free after Sacajewea didn't come home anymore.
Memory -Crow 2005 (likely died due to West Nile, I became ill with it about 4 monts later)
Shredder -cockatiel 2011 his story is at the end of this article.
http://everythingunderthemoon.net/forum ... t=shredder

Right now I have 2 ringneck turtle doves in an outdoor pen ...all the ring necks have just flown up to me and said, hey... we going to hang here for awhile. These two appeared about 3 and a half years ago, at a time I was praying for peace and change.
