Hello everyone!
I am new on this forum and I'd like to get to know some new friends and learn more about Wicca, as well as the Wiccan community. I am a Seeker as of now, and I am still learning more and more about Wicca each day.

Blessed be!

Welcome to the forum! :fairy:

I like your name! Ravens are my favorite bird! They're extremely smart, though I've heard they require a lot of attention as pets.

Anyways, have a look around and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Welcome!

What is a Seeker? I'm still relatively new to Wicca.
According to Silver Ravenwolf's book, Teen Witch: Wicca for a New Generation, a seeker is someone who is interested in Wicca and Witchcraft and chooses to follow the spiritual path of Wicca. I did my Seeker Ceremony at the beginning of last month which was my start into this spiritual path. Once I decide to fully dedicate myself to the Lord and Lady and the religion of Wicca I will be doing my Dedication Ceremony. I hope this helped! :flyingwitch:

I thought the first step was dedicant? Not sure if I have that name right but Seeker makes sense I just haven't heard that term before. Once you're dedicated then you are learning to become a priestess.

Then you're an initiate then level 1 priestess, level 2 then high priestess or level 3? That sound right?

According to my research, Seekers are people who are at the researching stage of, as of the name "seeker", meaning "seeking knowledge". Traditionally Wiccans studied Wicca for 1 year and 1 day before they could call themselves Wiccan. After that 1 year and 1 day, they gained a better knowledge of Wicca and will know for sure if they are ready to dedicate themselves fully to the Lord and Lady.

Phoenix Sol from Yahoo Answers had a great response to someone's question (What is a Wiccan Seeker?): "In a lot of traditional ways there was a teacher and a seeker. The seeker was named such because they were 'seeking' knowledge. A seeker in religions is a person trying to see what they believe so they 'seek' out information on the different religions and eventually find what they are looking for. So to answer you question what is a Wiccan seeker, a Wiccan seeker would be someone who has 'sought' out Wicca already and is now 'seeking' for more information. In Wicca there is a general tradition on 'a year and a day' of studying the religion before you can call yourself Wiccan. this time you could be known as a Wiccan seeker because you are still in the process of studying the religion."

I hope this helps! I don't know the stages of Wicca as of now, but if I ever find out I can tell you if you haven't already! :flyingwitch:

In my experience Wicca/witchcraft is so varied now, and with so many people practicing and doing so individually, there is hardly a universal term for anything. It's always best to just ask folks what they mean. That's the thing with the "unorganized" systems of faith and spirituality.....they're just so darn......unorganized...makes us harder to control.....or herd...or whatever. ;) I like that. :)
