The "perfect" sabbat celebration?
In the past, I haven't really celebrated Sabbats because I could never find that perfect celebration that felt just right. I don't want it to be absolutely perfect, I just want to feel something when I celebrate. Any ideas that could make me feel something on the Sabbats? Whether that be gratitude on mabon, honor for the deceased on samhain, whatever it may be, I just want to feel something special.

Celebrate them all! As you move through the cycle you may find one of them feels more thrlling than another. I used to really like Bealtaine an Samhain, but now they all have components that make them really special and exciting every time we come back around to them.
It can be simple or really elaborate. One thing that I try to stress with newer students is , you get out of it what you put into it.
If you go in to a ceremony expecting it to do something to you with no effort on your part, you may be disappointed. If you approach each holiday with reverence and look deeply at the meanings and symbologies of each with an open heart you'll be more grounded in the holiday. You can go all out with decorating, that brings the symbology to your eye-brain preparing you mentally before the event arrives. But a simple meditation out in the woods is fine as well. What would you like to do?

Hmm, it just seems slightly self-defeating to me to wait for the feeling before celebrating. That's backwards...first you celebrate, then the feeling comes through. Maybe a half way point would be to never mind the rituals, just BE Present for 30 minutes at one of the liminal times that you can manage of dawn, noon, sunset or midnight on the esbats and sabbats, and be outdoors at that time.
And think of what the seasonal activities are that shape modern life and your real world. What's the Earth doing at that time of year in your area, and feel it thru your feet, pull it into your heart, and let it be what it is.
