Pets that can talk...

Postby IceDragonX » Fri Sep 15, 2006 2:03 am

I always found this one interesting. That one crazy person that raves that their pet talks to them. However, I actually got to experience this a few years ago with my ex's black and white cat, Bruce. You see, Bruce was a very loved family pet. EVERYONE in that family loved this cat. I swear, I am not joking. He was the friendliest cat out of the two of the cats there (the other one was his mother) and he was especially loved by my ex (it was "his" cat). Who claimed he could say stuff like his name. I was always like "ya right," when he said that and ignored it. However one day I was waiting for him to change clothes and I felt goofy so I asked the cat, "Bruce...where is Aaron? (that was my ex's name) Is Aaron over there?" I then pointed at the door that Aaron was changing in. The cat turned around to look at where my finger was pointed and then said, "yes."

I swear, I am not kidding. He has also called Aaron by his name and when he was eating told Aaron, "I want one."

Anyone have stories like this??? I find this stuff freaky cool.

Not anything that amazing! I mean, me and my cat love each other and we commune in our own way, but he's never said anything verbally to me. I wish he would though, but maybe he just doesn't have that talent. lol. But then I love my cat and wouldn't want to change him.

I also have a cat, Dobby. I love him to death. If you ask anyone, they'll tell you he's the worst cat ever. He attacks everyone but me. I think it's that he's just... very protective. I don't verbly talk to him, but I do comunicate with him. It's more of a... soul conection. OK, that doesn't make sense. Like, if he's hungry I know.

My mom is a christian-pagan, and I kindof already knew this...but just a few weeks ago I finally got it confermed. And well, my mom used to tell us that she talked to our dog, Sassy. I always thought that she was joking, you know, trying to make us kids scared so that we don't do anything wrong..."cause Sassy might tell on us." But I just realized...my mother was serious. She can talk to our dog...

I wasn't laughing at being able to communicate with animals, of course that's possible, but as for the cat actually speaking and saying "yes", come on

Interesting. I've seen animals do things like this, but the ones that I've seen had always been trained to do it using some fairly straightforward form of operant conditioning. I've never seen an animal spontaneously try to say a word. Not to say it can't happen, though.
