Witches and Sodomy
Witches and Sodomy
I know that christians are against sodomy(anal, oral, masturbation.. i think, other sex acts that ar not "good" to certain ppl) and i know that certain places have laws against it, but i am considering wicca, and would like to know if they are against sodomy.

I have never come across any Wiccan against Sodomy but I have never really had that subject come up, in personal conversation or in books. Wicca really only has one "rule", "An it harm none do what ye will." If you were to join a coven they would probably have more specific rules and beliefs but if you were to be a solitary practitioner it is really more about your personal relationship to the God and Goddess. That is just my opinion somebody else may have something more concrete.

As a solitary, I only abide by the rules that I feel are relavent to me and my life. The first is the Rede. That's the corner stone. Beyond that and the 3-fold law, I hold few others, mostly for my own personal conduct sontrol. But, personaly, I think that if each member of the act agree/approve of each other and what they are about to enguage in, and no one is harmed in the execution of the act(s), then there is no reason to nay say anything. Further more, if I am not one of the members involved, why should I care? Seriously, what concern of mine is it if my neighbors indulge in a sodomary act? It's there buisness and unless they kidnap me or my wife or my son to use in the act, I really do not worry about it.
This is one of the things that I really do not like about the States at the moment. Everyone seems to be under the opinion (and the law allows it anymore.) that they are perfectly allowed to watch/pass judgement/stick their noses into everyone elses buisness. Weither or not your next door neighbor is gay or a pagan or whatever. If they pose no threat to the community (ie. pedophile. serial rapist, mass murderer.) then it's not anyones buisness. I've lived with Lesbians and with Gays. I never concerned myself with what they were doing or even cared unless it was a fight that spilled into my room (I was everyones shoulder to cry on for some reason) or unless (in one case only.) someone gets loud enough to wake me up at 3 am. (Even then, a tap on my floor boards did the trick.)
So to whomever is debating whatever and worries about the wrath of the Lord and Lady, Remember the Rede. You can't go wrong.
Blessed couplings.

The greatest advice I was ever given: It matters not what you believe. Only that you believe it wholeheartedly.
Re: Witches and Sodomy
No, there are no rules in Wicca against any form of safe, sane, and consensual sexual activity. In fact, in the Charge of the Goddess specifically states "All acts of love and pleasure are my rituals."I know that christians are against sodomy(anal, oral, masturbation.. i think, other sex acts that ar not "good" to certain ppl) and i know that certain places have laws against it, but i am considering wicca, and would like to know if they are against sodomy.
The caveat of course is the safe, sane and consensual. And of course that's where the Rede kicks in. If your sexual activities are not harming anyone, then it's nobody's business but your own.

That really depends on the Chrisitan. just like it varies for everyone else, sexual practices and what's wrong or okay vary for Christians too.I know that christians are against sodomy(anal, oral, masturbation.. i think, other sex acts that ar not "good" to certain ppl) and i know that certain places have laws against it, but i am considering wicca, and would like to know if they are against sodomy.
Here is the definition of the word according to the Oxford English dictionary
sodomy
• noun anal intercourse.
— DERIVATIVES sodomize (also sodomise) verb.
— ORIGIN from Latin peccatum Sodomiticum ‘sin of Sodom’ (after the Book of Genesis chapter 19, which implies that the men of the town of Sodom in ancient Palestine practised homosexual rape).
The ancient Christian defintion appears to refer to rape which would definitley be classified as a 'sin', but modern Christians seem to have defined any anal activity as sodomy (and therefore sinful). (This doesn't mean my analysis is true, of course, I'm no Theologian)

This I really have no opion on one way or the other, But how come in the vampire thread, I talk about drinking blood, which has nothing todo with sex at all, and I get read a riot act, but here something that is flat out a sexual discussion and not one word is said.
Not that I care discuss it if you wish, But it is kinda annoying in a way.
