hmm... your thoughts wanted.

Postby stormer89 » Tue Feb 26, 2008 8:44 pm

so i had an idea on making talismans out of bottle caps.
each one is a different color so if you use the right color corrospondances along with proper herbs, gems, runes or other symbols along with factors, i think it should work. i was wondering if anyone has ever tried that? plus it would be recycling them. and they would be easy to put in your pocket or purse and carry with you until the spell or intent plays out.
thoughts? ideas?
peace and love and blessed be

Simplistic for sure. This is not meant to be offensive, but it remind me of something a young Wiccan might use. I don't think its a bad idea, an object works as well as you have faith in it. Bottle caps, crystals, Athames, there all just things until you use them.

My personal favorite is making my own symbols, I take out a pen and draw it on my wrist in a second. Then my hand becomes endowed with the essence of the symbol. No fancy shiny stones, just magick in its simplistic and sometimes most effective form.

Interesting, on both accounts!

I agree that any object, regardless of it's original use, can become empowered if charged and handled properly but it's owner. I've never tried it with bottle caps, but on several occasions I've charged folded pieces of paper with symbols written on them, and used them to ground the shield I've set around my house. That eventually became a rather effective strategy of mine in fact, which I even suggested to my friend when she was having problems with negativity in her house. So really, it's all on the person. An object does nothing if no one is using it.

Oddly enough, I used to constantly draw on my hands too.

They are really what directs energy most efficiently. Everyone uses their hands for everything, I mean really we do. Its only natural we would look to them as tools for our magickal workings too. I personally find my hands to be my favorite tool. Although if I had a sword, that would so be my favorite *day dreams about swords*

Swords are awesome. I am trying to get a beautiful blade with a dragon on the hilt that has a ruby eye and decorations inscribed into the blade....<3

As for the bottlecaps, creative idea! Make sure you know what metal they are made of, and the correspondances for that metal, and go for it. Post how it turns out, maybe others could use the idea. The most powerful talismans are ideas you created yourself.
