Bipolar?

well I've noticed that my dad has had really bad mood swings. It's to the point where I believe he is bipolar. I was just wondering if anyone had a spell that may help him.This is my first time healing and it will be my first circle as well. I don't have any magickal tools but I am willing to get anyting needed. I think it would make him and people around him feel better. If you need any more information I can supply that as well. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks.

First of all, it is really admirable that you want to help your father. I do not have any spells that might help with bipolar disorder, but I might write something that will be of use to you too (I think I might be manic-depressive, and I at least want to make my mood swings less intense). But I'd advise you to look around and create a spell yourself. You can take ideas from other healing spells and create something personal - these always have a better chance to work.

But before spell-casting there are some things you should consider. Some people, including me, believe it's not entirely ethical (or safe) to cast a healing spell on someone else without their permission. There is the possibility that the sick person doesn't want to get better (although I can't see that applying to someone with bipolar disorder), or the healing energy could cause damage instead of good.

One other thing - have you talked to your father about your worries? Maybe if you get him to visit a doctor the problem will be solved more easily. The pills for these situations are often very "heavy" and addictive, but in any case spells shouldn't replace medicine entirely. There's also a big chance that your father's mood swings aren't related to any disorders - there might be issues he needs to talk through.

Gee, I must have bored you, this post is huge... As a last note, I think you should read up some stuff on magick and rituals before casting your first and important spell. When you know what you are doing and why you are doing it, your spells have a much bigger chance to work.

I think for health issues that are serious they should be addresses in a more tradtional and natural way such as homeopathy instead of witchcraft. but I do believe that they can both be used at the same time with the spellwork being used as a compliment to the healing.
