Dream of a Ritual with Witches. please reply, anyone.

Postby gwenblackbird » Sat Jan 17, 2009 5:38 pm

Alright, so a while back (about two years ago or so) I had this dream about this occult doing some sort of ritual. They were all in Black capes with hoods that hung low that you could hardly see their faces (but I could see them because it was dark). They were all standing around this round table that didn't have a middle part and there was another table set in the middle of the other (if I remember correctly) and there were these pretty blue candles set everywhere and their flames were so pretty and blue.

They chanted and chanted, and at some point I think that they joined hands and raised them etc, etc. When i was having this dream it was so so vivid like they were in my room (although mostly all of my dreams are real vivid, but this one was a whole new level of it). I felt scared, like something bad was happening. There was also a huge pentagram somewhere in the middle of them. Everytime I opened my eyes from not being able to take it anymore I would close my eyes after a few minutes but it would just go right back to where it ended. I put a little light I had on (not much light, just a little) and then i still had them in my head.

At one point it seemed like some of them were all standing around my bed holding candle, and then their eyes turned this weird shade of red with a little bit of silver in them and had pale features. After I was just so fed up with it and scared to my whits I started to pray and then they went away and after a while I was able to dream normally.

Any ideas one why I had a dream like this?

I have an idea, Gwen: If I'm recalling correctly, I think I've read in some of your other posts that you're fairly new to Paganism in general and that you were brought up Christian... right? If that's the case, I have two thoughts on your dream. #1, (and my instinctual response to your dream) is to tell you that I believe this dream was more an apprehension-type dream; meaning that the dream speaks to you of a subconscious (or possibly conscious as well) fear you have of what all this Paganism/Wicca/Witchcraft means and what it might entail. I believe you're "seeing" an intense coven ritual because that's what your impression wants you to see- it's more or less the embodiment of a stereotypical version of things, used by your mind to elicit a response- and in this case it was fear.

The second thought I had was along the same lines, but rather than the dream coming from unsure/fearful feelings, it's coming from an internal guilt you may be entertaining within your mind. (Consciously or subconsciously- though usually dreams are subconscious representations of things that need to be dealt with in your conscious mind and waking life.) Do you think you may have some guilt over the abandonment of the "light" (if you were brought up with a particular belief system, that would be "the light"), for this "darker" way of being? (I don't mean that by any means paganism, etc. is a "dark" religion, but the bible does teach that it's "dark and evil".)

Some other stuff that may help to know: (per my dream dictionary)-

Blue: Blue represents truth, wisdom, heaven, eternity, devotion, tranquility, loyalty and openness. The presence of this color in your dream, may symbolize your spiritual guide and your optimism of the future. You have clarity of mind. [You saw blue candles with blue flames]

Red: Red is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations. Consider the phrase "seeing red" to denote anger.
Red is also the color of danger, shame, sexual impulses and urges. Perhaps you need to stop and think about your actions.
-and-
Silver: Silver represents justice and purity. It is symbolic of some protective energy. [You saw red & silver eyes as the people appeared to be surrounding you and your bed.]

...And one last thing: waking ("opening your eyes") then returning to right where the dream left off again is a normal occurrence... especially if you hadn't moved (other than opening your eyes) during the waking moments... also, you could have potentially "opened your eyes" but still have been asleep- that happens too. :28:

Hope that helps!

Thank you for that information.

I know I was awake though, I also moved around and dug my nails into the wood of my bed frame (hehe) and even turned on the light.
I'm able to tell when I'm dreaming and not.

Thank you again!

That's good at least (being able to know when you're dreaming and when not)-- the worst part of a scary dream (for me) is not knowing that it's just a dream.
I can interpret all of my (and other's) dreams, but I have absolutely no control over my own dream-states. (LOL!)

By the way, I didn't want that last post to seem that I was assuming you didn't know when you were dreaming and when you weren't- I was just speaking in more of a generic fashion. No offense intended! :28:

Well at least you're able to interpret dreams!

And no offense was taken.
