I'm sorry Din, I've been really busy lately and haven't had the chance to get to this yet. (I'm here now, though!) :28: I'm glad you sent me a reminder.
Oh, and by the way, you said:
I believe there is a higher power and an ultimate reason for existence, but not necessarily in a single entity known as "God". That being said, even typing this now I feel an anxiety that I am "sinning" by not knowing what I believe in. By not believing in an almighty power that I was taught to believe in as a child and even now as a young adult.
...there's a name for this, it is a literal belief system all of its own; called "Agnostic". :28:
I was actually raised that way, or rather; raised in a way that I could choose the right path for me without penalty or grief... so I'm quite familiar with the Agnostic way of thinking. Unfortunately for you, your Christian upbringing and the system you were taught as "
the truth" is now what's causing your feelings of betrayal to your faith, yourself and your family. Honestly, that's the worst part of any religion, I think- when it causes someone to question if they're a horrible person for even
thinking outside of the confines of their "box". No religion should make someone feel bad about themselves and as though they are betraying their God, just for having their own individual thoughts and opinions, if you ask me.

~*~
I think your dream is quite interesting, really. You're traveling along peacefully with those who make you feel as though you "belong" and in an attempt to gain for
yourself, what you perceive and feel is that of pure, protective energy, you veer off into the black and silver truck. However, you are taking your loved ones with you and are fearing that by your personal choice you're trying to make for yourself, you're taking them along with you, whether they want to be there or not. In a nutshell, this dream speaks of your internal battle where not only do you long for more, but you fear the change as well; I think you're expressing your concerns that you may lose everything you care about if you follow your heart.
That said, I do hope you know that's not the reality though... you can talk to your fiancee and friends about your religious feelings and bounce it off of them too... a conversation with those you love and a conversation with and within yourself is what's missing here... and the key to changing this dream from one that plagues you to one that guides and teaches. :28:
~Hope that helps! (Again, I'm sorry it took so long!)
Bright Blessings,
MoonStone
(PS...So far as dying in your dreams, it's not as infrequent as one may think- generally, the simple act of there being a/your "death" in a dream is what's important, not so much how it happens or what happens afterward. The "death" symbolizes a part of you that you don't like and wish to have change, and the other circumstances in the dream point toward what that "thing" is. :28:)
