The first sentence you wrote in Romanian was pretty accurate. We both believed you,hehe.
The Google translate effect hit only in the second one. ;-)

I have noticed that short simple sentences are usually fairly accurate with google but longer, more complex or more complicated sentences tend to be less to for example when silvanna asked me is I spoke Romanian it translated as her asking if I was a book or novel

Haha! Close enough.
I tried to translate with Google translate some sentences in French. They translation was so bad that I didn't have to actually know the language to realise that.

I guess it's trendy to learn German. Almost everyone I met in the last few months speak or want to learn German.
Vielleicht wird Deutsch die nächste universelle Sprache sein...Wer weiß!?

When I lived in England, my housemate was Romanian. Didn't learn much of the language, but I know how to say cheers and know how to get myself in trouble :D
