Meditation with Music

Postby Imalorki » Mon Jun 22, 2009 10:03 pm

Not sure if I ever posted this before...but this is meditation for people that are too awake in their head to listen to silence...silence sometimes bugs me...

Pick music you get lost into...I generally have Joe Hisaishi( Studio Ghibli films) and the music meditation I learned this from...I listen to it...and I get lost in the notes...my thoughts because slowed and pictures...then my mind goes black...after a few minutes I see flashes of color against the blackness of my lids...and I just imagine everything feeling wonderful...and all my troubles being swept away...when I need to clean...

For inner searching...for those that have a problem with it...use the music to get you there...like your path...it teaches you to lose the mind ADD as I call it and focus.

Sit, or lie down...be comfortable...you'll be there a bit.
Put on the music you chose
Close your eyes
Focus energy in your abdomen, your heart, and the middle of your head...to do this imagine light...energy something that flows like water pooling in those areas...imagination is key to power.
Let the music drown out the world and fill you with energy...keep absentmindedly focusing on those three spots.
Keep doing this until you feel ready to go back to the world.
or for inner searching...feel yourself going within yourself...if you can astral project...do it inward...if you're like me you'll feel a tug at your eyebrow.
Imagine yourself flying back into yourself to see what is there.
Embrace it
Accept it as yourself

I do this when I have problems(I have a more specific way, but that is a secret thing to me that only my soul mate and closest comrades know) and it clears me out and I see why my soul mate calls me beautiful...because before I couldn't see it. I couldn't see I was a good person. I didn't see the good things. I didn't accept myself. meditation and inner searching helped me immensely :P

music has always worked well for me.. something fairly slow or steady... I prefer instrumental.. vocal distracts me somewhat.. and I also like orchestral....

I find if you focus on a single instrument, it helps as well.

I know that one...Joe Hisaishi his works...drool...I get lost in those notes and my cat has to claw into me to get me back.

and yes on Instrumental...vocal tends to distract you if you're analytical.
you'll analyze everything of the person voice...I automatically analyze things

I have had a lot of luck with drones, especially those that produce binaural beats. The Sacred Solfeggios work well in this system as well as the Qliphothic frequencies for darker pathwork. The frequency 528Hz is known to repair damaged DNA and can be used to good effect, the Chakra vibrations are also good for drones.

If I am to add any kind of rhythm it is usually drums / percussion / noise adhering to the laws of Trance Induction. Occasionally I have used looped mantras to good effect, but I find that words seem to distract the mind and the focus becomes easily lost.

Another good technique I have used was to create what is called a Sound Sigil, it is a piece of music / sound collage that like a sigil is charged with a Willful intent so when it is heard the Sound Sigil works on the subconscious directing the Will.

I absolutely love meditating with music. I wouldn't know how else to. Lol it really helps block out the endless stream of mindjunk our brain is always producing.

My favorite cds to use are:

-Spirit Dreams
- and the Donnie Darko Ochestra musical soundtrack.

The donnie darko one, is amazing. Seriously. The songs are all so beautiful and seem so fluid. There's a pretty voice singing in the back. Not singing, but a lot of "ahhh-ing" going on.

If you've seen the movie, the music is from all the time in between the main songs like, "Head of Heels" and "The killing moon."

I would highly suggest beginners at meditation try out different things, even if their not what people would normally do. I've found that some of the oddest things can make you feel the most relaxed. :)
.You are Beautiful.
